Diarmuid has played guitar since the age of 12 and is influenced by blues guitarists such as Eric Clapton, Rory Gallagher and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Previous to founding Phoenix Down with Julian he performed an acoustic act and became a fixture around pubs in cork city, playing a wide variety of genres. His diverse and instantly recognisable playing is one of Phoenix Downs greatest assets.
Brian Moynihan - Vocals and Bass: Brian has been playing in bands and songwriting since the age of 14, starting out as a singer and then also becoming a bass player. Brians' previous acts include Karma and Shooting Saturn, both of which enjoyed moderate success on the Cork music scene. His vocals have been likened by reviewers to that of Bob Mould and Joey Ramone while he draws his bass playing influences from sources such as John Entwhistle and Paul McCartney. Brians' writing and playing style has been influenced by being surrounded by music from an early age, growing up listening to his parents LPs of the Beatles, Taste, Cream and Deep Purple among others.
Julian De'Donatis - Drums:
Julian has been playing drums for roughly 12 years. Over that time he jas developed his playing to encompase genres such as Rock, Funk, Hip Hop, Blues, Rap RnB and Jazz, and is always looking for new techniques to add to his playing. Originally Julian played in a metal band called Weapon of Choice that started in 2008 and lasted four years.
